Origin
The Aloe plicatilis is a native plant from South Africa, where it mainly grows on dry, rocky slopes and in fynbos. This aloe species has been spread all over the world since the 17th century due to its graceful appearance and easy maintenance.

Characteristics
The Aloe plicatilis distinguishes itself with its unique, fan-like branching pattern from which the leaves grow. This species is very similar to the more familiar Aloe Vera in many ways, but can be identified by the blue-grey colour of its leaves. The plant tends to grow in height and under good conditions can reach up to 3 metres high. The aloe blooms with orange to bright red flowers in the late winter or early spring.

Care
When caring for the Aloe plicatilis, it is important to consider the plant's natural habitat. The plant thrives in well-draining soil and loves plenty of sunlight. However, despite its desert origins, the Aloe plicatilis is not drought-resistant and must be watered regularly. The plant can also grow in most temperatures, but it is sensitive to frost and should be brought indoors during the cold months.
