Origin
The Aloe tongaensis 'Medusa' is a unique type of aloe originating from the south of Africa. This plant originally finds its roots in the kingdom of eSwatini, also known as Swaziland. This region is characterised by its subtropical climate, offering optimal conditions for the growth and development of this specific aloe species.

Characteristics
The Aloe tongaensis 'Medusa' is a succulent that stands out due to its long, thin leaves that grow from a central point. These leaves are green in colour and speckled with light, white markings. As the leaves grow in all directions, the plant bears a resemblance to the hairstyle of the mythical Medusa, hence the nickname 'Medusa'. This aloe species has the ability to produce beautiful orange flowers, mainly during the summer months.

Care
The Aloe tongaensis 'Medusa' prefers full sun and well-draining soil, reflecting its original growing area. Like other succulents, it requires little water, withstanding drought well by storing water in its leaves. Overwatering can lead to root rot. The plant can survive temperatures down to around -3 degrees Celsius, but it blooms best in warmer conditions. This aloe species thrives best with minimal fertilisation - once a year is usually sufficient.
