Origin
The Ligustrum Jonandrum, also known as the Privet ball on trunk, has its origin in Southeast Europe and Asia. This plant primarily grows in the wilderness of these regions but has also become popular as a garden plant in many other parts of the world.
Characteristics
The Ligustrum Jonandrum is an evergreen shrub that is well resistant to pruning. It has dark green leaves that grow closely together and have an oval shape. The flowers are small, white in colour and usually bloom in the early summer. This plant is a slow grower and can reach a maximum height of three to four metres.
Care
The Ligustrum Jonandrum prefers a well-draining, moist but not wet soil. It is unable to tolerate waterlogging. In addition, this plant needs a spot in partial shade or full sun for the best growth. It is also recommended to fertilise the Ligustrum Jonandrum twice a year and prune back in the spring to maintain a dense and compact growth.
