Origin
The Nannorrhops Ritchiana, also known as the Mazari Palm, is naturally found in the arid and rocky regions of Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. This palm tree has adapted to extreme climates under the sunny and hot desert landscape, and can survive in conditions with little water.
Characteristics
The Nannorrhops Ritchiana is a slow-growing, multi-trunked palm that can reach 2-3 metres in height. It has long, slender, fan-shaped leaves that come in a blue-grey to silvery colour. This palm can have several trunks branching out from the base, and is equipped with stiff, sharp-pointed leaves. The plant produces small, inconspicuous flowers and later small, hard fruit.
Care
For the care of the Nannorrhops Ritchiana, it is important that it is placed in a sunny location, but the plant can also tolerate some shade. It is recommended to plant the palm in well-draining soil to prevent root rot. Although the Mazari Palm is drought-tolerant, it benefits from regular watering, especially during dry periods. However, it is important to know that overwatering should be avoided.
