Origin
The Monstera 'Thai Constellation', also known under the name Variegated Monstera, is naturally endemic to the tropical rainforests of South America. It is a climbing plant that naturally grows upwards along trees.
Characteristics
The Monstera 'Thai Constellation' has large, glossy leaves that are marked with unique, cream-white spots. These spots give the plant its 'galaxy' appearance, hence the name 'Thai Constellation'. Over time, the leaves develop aerial roots and fenestrations, these are gaps that are characteristic for the Monstera species.
Care
The Monstera 'Thai Constellation' grows best in indirect sunlight and prefers moist, but well-drained soil. The plant requires regular watering, but cannot tolerate standing in water. Furthermore, the 'Thai Constellation' likes a high humidity, an environmental temperature between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius and a nutrient-rich diet during the growing season. Wiping the leaves with a damp cloth can also help the plant to stay healthy and free from dust.
