Origin
The Cyathea cooperi, also known as the Australian tree fern, has its origin in Eastern Australia. Here, the plant grows in humid forests, along streams and in ravines. It is the most widespread and well-known tree fern in Australia. The Cyathea cooperi has also been introduced to other parts of the world, such as subtropical and tropical areas.

Characteristics
The Cyathea cooperi is a large, majestic, and fast-growing fern. The tree can easily reach a height of 15 metres, with a canopy that can stretch out to a width of 6 to 7 metres. The leaves of the Cyathea cooperi are long, broad, and deeply incised. A key characteristic of this species is the noticeable, brown, and woolly stem nodules. These give the plant its distinctive appearance.

Care
The Cyathea cooperi requires specific care to survive under less favourable conditions. The plant prefers a moist, well-draining soil. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can burn the leaves. Optimal growth is achieved with a constant temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius. Although the plant is tolerant of cold, protection from frost is essential as frost can cause serious damage to the plant.
