Origin
The Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen', also known as the wax plant, is a climbing plant of the Hoya genus that originates from East Asia and Australia. It's a typical pot plant that can grow both in planters and in hanging baskets. Due to its exotic and unique appearance, the plant is highly sought after by plant enthusiasts.

Characteristics
The Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen' is characterised by its large, widely spread leaves that have a bright pink edge. The leaves are fleshy, shiny and have a waxy surface. The plant blooms with clusters of fragrant, white, star-shaped flowers that have a red centre. These flowers grow on a woody vine that can wind around supports.

Care
For the care of the Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen', it is important that the plant is placed in a bright place, but not directly in the sun. Moderate watering is sufficient, as the plant is fairly drought tolerant. It is recommended to keep the plant cooler in the winter and give less water. Removal of dead leaves and flowers during the growing period promotes healthy growth and flowering. Periodic fertilising with a water-soluble fertiliser is also recommended for optimal growth and flowering.
