Origin
The Peperomia rotundifolia, also known as the Jade Necklace, is originally from South America. The plant mainly grows in the Amazon region of Brazil. In this warm, humid location, the plant lives in the shade of large trees, which contributes to the formation of its unique characteristics.
Characteristics
The Peperomia rotundifolia is known for its characteristic round, green leaves that hang along the stems. The stems are longer and more flexible compared to other types of Peperomias, giving this indoor plant a hanging growth habit. Usually, the plant reaches a height of about 40 cm. The Peperomia rotundifolia rarely blooms, but when it does, small yellow-green flowers appear.
Care
For the care of the Peperomia rotundifolia, it is important to choose a warm, bright place, but direct sunlight should be avoided. The plant requires high air humidity, therefore it is important to regularly spray the leaves with water. As for watering, the plant prefers being kept too dry than too wet. Therefore, it is recommended to let the potting soil dry out first before watering again.
