Origin
The Polyscias, also known as the Aralia, is a plant species native to the regions of the Pacific Ocean, Australia and Africa. The name ‘Polyscias’ means ‘many shadows’ in Greek, referring to the variation in leaf shapes within this species. Included in this species is the Polyscias Heart, a popular member of the Polyscias family.
Characteristics
The Polyscias Heart 12 cm (Decorum) is a decorative, leafy houseplant with heart-shaped leaves. The plant has a compact, shrub-like growth and is characterized by its striking, dark green, glossy leaves. The stems of the Polyscias Heart are tightly feathered, causing the leaves to adorn in a special way. The size of the plant makes it a perfect addition to a desk or table.
Care
In terms of the care of the Polyscias Heart 12 cm (Decorum), these plants prefer a spot with lots of indirect sunlight. Although this species is able to survive short periods of drought, it is still recommended to water the plant regularly, without leaving any water at the bottom of the pot. In general, this type of plant is considered quite easy to care for. However, it is important to note that this plant does not tolerate cold temperatures well, so a warm place in the house is most suitable.
