Senecio Cephalophorus
F00000371
Origin
The Alocasia Azlanii originally comes from Southeast Asia, in particular from the tropical rainforests of Borneo. This rare plant species is part of the Araceae family, which includes over 70 different species.
Characteristics
The Alocasia Azlanii is characterized by its striking leaf colour and patterns. The leaves are dark olive green with deep, almost black, veins which together form an intriguing, almost prehistoric pattern. The leaves also have a silvery underside and can become considerably large, depending on the health and age of the plant. This exotic plant is also known as 'Red Mambo' due to its spectacular red stems.
Care
The Alocasia Azlanii has specific care requirements in order to thrive. Like most tropical plants, it needs high humidity and indirect sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can burn the leaves. Even though it is a rather water-loving plant, it cannot tolerate the soil becoming water-saturated. It is therefore important to be careful with watering the plant and to plant it in a well-draining soil mix.
