Origin
The Polyscias Filicifolia, also known as the Aralias, has its origin in the tropical regions of the Pacific Ocean, particularly in areas such as Hawaii and the Philippines. This species of plant is a member of the Araliaceae family. Due to its tropical origin, it thrives in a humid and warm environment.
Characteristics
The Polyscias Filicifolia distinguishes itself with its feathery, dark green leaves. The plant can grow up to two metres tall and usually grows upright. The glossy leaves are composed of several smaller leaflets that grow from a central stem. The Polyscias Filicifolia is a deciduous plant and can produce small inconspicuous flowers.
Care
Maintaining the Polyscias Filicifolia requires constant, but indirect sunlight. Although it prefers humidity, it needs regular watering and avoid too much water to prevent root rot. The plant grows well in well-drained soil and requires a warm climate, with temperatures between 16 and 27 degrees Celsius. A minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius is required during the winter period.
