Origin
The Polystichum tsussimense is originally an Asian plant and is therefore found in countries such as Korea and Japan. It is a fern species that has adapted well to the humid and shady conditions of forests in these regions.

Characteristics
The Polystichum tsussimense is a hardy, evergreen fern, which means that the plant retains its colour throughout the year. It reaches a height of about 40 centimetres, making it ideal for use in, for example, rock gardens. The leaves of the plant are elegant and very finely feathered. The leaves are a dark green colour, giving the fern a luxurious and classic appearance.

Care
A shady spot in the garden is ideal for the Polystichum tsussimense. It is a fairly easy plant to care for, as it is well adapted to the less sunny conditions. It is important, however, to provide enough moisture, without submerging the plant. Adding some organic fertiliser in the growing season can be beneficial for plant growth.
