Origin
The Dieffenbachia 'Galaxy' has its roots in the tropical regions of Central and South America. It is a cultivar of the Araceae family and is also known as the dumb cane or deaf plant in tropical countries, although these terms are less frequently used for this specific variety.
Characteristics
The Dieffenbachia 'Galaxy' is characterised by its large, shiny leaves with bright, white speckles. The plant can grow up to a height of 90 centimetres and a width of about 30 centimetres. The leaves can reach a length of approximately 40 centimetres. Furthermore, the Dieffenbachia 'Galaxy' is known for its fast growth and the fact that the plant can bloom all year round, provided it is in the right conditions.
Care
The care of the Dieffenbachia 'Galaxy' requires high humidity and regular watering, ideally when the top layer of potting soil feels dry. The plant does best in indirect, bright light, but can also survive in less light. It is important to note that the plant is not resistant to temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius. Furthermore, the Dieffenbachia 'Galaxy' prefers fertiliser specifically for indoor plants, which should be added to the water once a month during the growing season.
