Origin
The Adiantum mix is a plant species belonging to the fern family (Pteridaceae). The plant is primarily native to tropical and subtropical regions in North and South America. The Latin name 'Adiantum' means 'not wet', which refers to the way water beads off the leaves.

Characteristics
The Adiantum mix is also known as 'maidenhair fern'. The plant is characterised by its delicate, dark green to black stems and refined, light green leaves. These leaves are finely divided and have a haze that looks like downy hairs. In addition, the plant can grow up to 75 centimetres high and is semi-evergreen, meaning that it retains its leaves year-round in some climates.

Care
The Adiantum mix needs a damp, but well-draining soil. The plant grows best in a location with filtered light, but it can also live in partial shade. It's important to spray the plant regularly with lukewarm water, but overwatering can be harmful. In addition, the plant needs a weekly application of liquid plant food during the growing season. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the Adiantum mix doesn't tolerate cold temperatures well and therefore needs to be kept indoors or in a heated greenhouse during the winter.
