Origin
The Pinus sylvestris Chantry Blue, also known as the Scotch Pine, originates in Europe and Asia, where this conifer primarily grows in forest areas. The name Chantry Blue refers to the unique blue hue of the needles of this variety.

Characteristics
The Pinus sylvestris Chantry Blue distinguishes itself from other conifers by its characteristic blue-grey needles and robust, reddish-brown bark. The tree can grow to a height of 10 to 20 meters and has an open, irregular growth form. In spring and summer, the tree produces orange to reddish cones, which stand in contrast with the blue-grey needles.

Care
The Pinus sylvestris Chantry Blue is a reasonably low-maintenance plant that can stand in both full sun and partial shade. Though it is quite drought resistant, the plant does have a preference for well-draining, acidic to neutral soil. To maintain its stunning colour and shape, annual pruning in late spring or early summer is recommended.
