Origin
The Nephrolepis Exaltata 'Cotton Candy', also known as the Boston Fern, originally comes from tropical and subtropical areas worldwide. The plant is primarily found in damp forests and marshes, but can also survive in urban environments and indoors.
Characteristics
This fern variety has soft, light green leaves that stretch from a central growth point. They are abundantly dotted with small, round spores under the leaf segments. The leaves have a delicate, feathery texture, hence the nickname 'Cotton Candy'. The plant can grow to heights of two to three feet, with a comparable width.
Care
The Nephrolepis Exaltata 'Cotton Candy' prefers a location with indirect light and should be watered regularly to keep the soil moist, but not too wet. High humidity is also recommended, which is why this plant is ideal for damp areas such as bathrooms. It is recommended to feed the plant weekly with a lightly diluted liquid food during the growth phase in spring and summer, and then decrease to monthly feeding in autumn and winter.
