Origin
The Festuca gautieri AmiGreen® is a type of grass originating from the high mountainous regions of Southern Europe. In its natural habitat, this species forms sprawling meadows and prefers cool, damp conditions. This grass variant can mainly be found in the Pyrenees and a few other mountain ranges.

Characteristics
The Festuca gautieri AmiGreen® is characterised by its compact growth and fine, dark green leaves. It is notable for its spherical, low-ground appearance and is often used as ground cover. The plant reaches an average height of around 20 centimetres and blooms with inconspicuous, light green inflorescences during the summer months.

Care
Water management is key in the care of the Festuca gautieri AmiGreen®. Although the plant can withstand drier conditions, it prefers damp soil to maintain its best growth and form. This grass species also tolerates moderate to full sunlight and is frost-hardy. In terms of soil, this plant enjoys well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Pruning is generally not necessary, unless one wants to control the shape of the plant.
