Origin
The Chlorophytum orchidastrum Green Orange originates from South Africa. The plant is found in the wild in the provinces of Mpumalanga and Limpopo. It grows in high altitude areas and as such is accustomed to a mild climate with regular rainfall. The plant belongs to the Asparagaceae family and is also known as Green Orange.

Characteristics
Characteristic for the Chlorophytum orchidastrum Green Orange are its shiny, dark green leaves with orange stripes. These stripes appear in the autumn, giving the plant a distinctive seasonal colour palette. The plant can grow up to 30 cm in height and has a spread out growth habit. The flowers are white and usually appear in the spring or early summer.

The plant prefers indirect, bright light and should ideally be rotated regularly so that all sides of the plant receive light.
