DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Livistona rotundifolia, also known as the round-leaf fountain palm, originates from the forests of South Asia, specifically Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. In these tropical regions, the plant mainly grows in the shade of larger trees. The Livistona rotundifolia was introduced to Europe as a houseplant in the 19th century.

Characteristics
This houseplant is characterised by its large fan-shaped leaves which are green in colour and have a leathery texture. The immature leaves of the Livistona are heart-shaped and unfold into a round shape as they mature. This plant can grow to a height of more than 1.5 meters. The trunk of the Livistona rotundifolia is inconspicuous and quite narrow compared to the width of its leaves.

Care
The care of the Livistona rotundifolia requires a location with indirect or filtered sunlight, as direct sunlight can damage the leaves. The plant needs regular watering, but should not be kept too moist to prevent root rot. This plant has no specific temperature requirements, although it thrives better at temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. Finally, it is recommended to fertilise the Livistona rotundifolia two to three times a year with a houseplant fertiliser.
