Origin
The Ptychosperma macarthurii, also known as the Macarthur palm, is originally from Northern Australia and New Guinea. The plant belongs to the Aracaceae family and thrives in tropical and subtropical climates.

Characteristics
This palm is known for its slim, multi-trunk growth that can reach a height of 10 meters. The frond-like leaves hang abundantly downwards, with yellow-green leaf stems that acquire a red tint when exposed to a lot of light. The flowers are yellowish-white in colour and form in clusters, followed by small, red fruits.

Care
Ptychosperma macarthurii requires well-draining soil and plenty of water, but also tolerates dry spells. The palm thrives in full sun to partial shade. This palm is resistant to light frost and can survive at temperatures down to -3°C. Regular pruning is needed to keep the plant healthy and attractive.
