Philodendron 'Ring of Fire' 6/tray
4PHRFBP01
Origin
The Philodendron gloriosum is a tropical plant that originates from the tropical rainforest of Colombia. This creeping vine can be found in the understory shrubs of the rainforest, where it adapts to the low light conditions.
Characteristics
The plant is characterised by its large, heart-shaped, dark green leaves that can grow to around 25 centimetres, but in some cases may even reach 90 centimetres. These leaves have distinctive white veins that contrast with the dark leaf. Another notable feature is that the plant propagates through root tubers underground, from which new shoots grow.
Care
The Philodendron gloriosum requires high humidity and indirect sunlight, similar to conditions in the tropical rainforest. It requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot and needs to be watered regularly, but only once the top layer of soil is dry. The plant performs best at temperatures between 15 and 28°C.
