Origin
The Chamaecereus 'Ubink Cerise', also known as the Peanut Cactus, has its origin in Argentina. This cactus is originally found in the northwestern part of the country, in the mountainous regions. Here, the plant grows in rocky areas and can withstand high temperatures and dry conditions well.

Characteristics
The Chamaecereus 'Ubink Cerise' is a compact and low-growing cactus. The plant is characterised by its elongated, cylindrical shapes that resemble peanuts, hence its nickname 'Peanut Cactus'. The plant produces bright pink to cerise flowers in late spring and early summer. The flowers are relatively large compared to the size of the cactus itself.

Care
The care of the Chamaecereus 'Ubink Cerise' is relatively easy as the plant can deal well with dry conditions. The cactus prefers a sunny location and needs well-draining soil to prevent root rot. In general, the cactus only needs watering when the soil is completely dried out. In the winter months, the plant goes into a resting phase and needs little to no water.
