Origin
The Sansevieria Silver Flame, also known as the snake plant, has its original roots in West Africa. The plant was first discovered in Nigeria and Congo and from there, it spread all over the world. Since its discovery in the 18th century, the Sansevieria Silver Flame has managed to adapt to various climates, ranging from tropical to desert-like.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria Silver Flame is a striking plant with long, upright, silver-green leaves. The leaves resemble flames, hence the name Silver Flame. These leaves can grow up to a length of 60 to 70 centimetres and are marked with horizontal stripes. Moreover, the plant is characterised by its ability to form angular tendrils.
Care
When it comes to care, the Sansevieria Silver Flame is a fairly simple plant. It does not require much water and overwatering can lead to root rot. Furthermore, this plant needs light, but it can also survive in shady environments. The Sansevieria Silver Flame grows best in temperatures between 15 and 29 degrees Celsius. Lastly, the plant can periodically be re-potted, depending on its growth.
