DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Ritterocereus urbaneus is a member of the cactus family and is native to Mexico. The plant grows in the dry, rocky environments of the Mexican states of Guerrero and Oaxaca.

Characteristics
The Ritterocereus urbaneus is a slender, upright cactus that can grow to a height of 3 to 5 metres. It is covered in a fine, felt-like layer that helps the plant retain water. The stems of this cactus are ribbed and usually have 8 to 14 sharp, thin spines at each areole. The flowers are white in colour, elongated in shape, and can grow up to 3 cm in diameter.

Care
This cactus requires direct sunlight and well-draining soil to thrive. Furthermore, this plant needs very little water, especially in the winter months, when the soil should completely dry out between waterings. Overwatering can cause the roots to rot. The optimal temperature for the Ritterocereus urbaneus is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, making it an excellent indoor plant in many climates.
