At Nieuwkoop Europe, we are committed to continuous innovation in our cultivation processes. With the introduction of 13 PATS-C devices in our greenhouses, we are taking a significant step towards automated pest control. Read more about the purpose and functionality of these devices in this article.
PATS-C
The PATS-C is an innovative system that uses infrared cameras to detect flying insects in the greenhouse at night. By collecting and analysing this real-time data, we can further optimise our cultivation strategies.
The advanced technology of the devices provides us with a new, automated way to monitor a potential infestation of the banana moth (Opogona sacchari). With 13 devices in our greenhouses, we can monitor insect movements 24/7, even when our staff is not present. This allows us to detect infestations early and prevent their spread. Moreover, the automation of the scouting process enables us to use our scout team's time and resources more efficiently.
