International regulations for plant health are becoming increasingly strict, driven by the role of supervisory authorities safeguarding the safety of food, consumer products, animal welfare and nature, including the health of plants. This calls for a different way of working with more focus on prevention instead of intervening afterwards. As an important link in the chain, we take this responsibility seriously. That is why we invest in solutions that are aligned with the future, with the first major step being the introduction of an ultrafiltration system.
The necessity of prevention
Within the sector, attention is growing for a more sustainable and controlled approach to plant health. Due to the combination of stricter regulations and a more limited set of available treatments, reactive action is becoming less and less sufficient. A contamination can also be present before a plant shows symptoms, which means risks can circulate unnoticed through the chain. This is why we focus on a preventive approach that excludes risks as much as possible at the beginning of the process.
Chain responsibility: minimising risk at the source
Water is the lifeline of every plant but can also carry invisible micro-organisms such as bacteria, fungi, nematodes or viruses. These particles are not visible to the naked eye, yet they can have a significant impact on the vitality and lifespan of plants in your projects.
By investing in prevention, we ensure that any risks do not enter the process further downstream. We take our chain responsibility seriously and focus on maximum hygiene and safety at every step, starting at the source.

Our investment in ultrafiltration
An important step in this preventive policy is the investment in a new, advanced ultrafiltration system. This system purifies all our water flows to a level that exceeds the highest phytosanitary standards.
Ultrafiltration (UF) works like a microscopically fine sieve. Whereas a standard filter blocks sand or dirt, UF filters even very small pathogens and harmful organisms from the water, while essential nutrients remain intact.
The result is clean, safe and reliable irrigation water. With this, we strengthen our preventive chain approach and continue to deliver the high quality you are accustomed to, now and in the future.

The work for the installation of the ultrafiltration system is already well underway. We are currently carrying out the technical preparations, after which the installation of the new irrigation unit and the ultrafiltration system itself will follow at the end of January.
The completion of the entire system is scheduled for February. We will share more about how the ultrafiltration system works in an upcoming blog. Keep an eye on our website and newsletter for updates.
