For a while now, most people have been working and spending a lot of time at home. This has made people aware of the importance of a pleasant living and working environment. We are ready for a breath of fresh air: we are going to de-clutter and refresh furniture. The fact that plants are indispensable for a clear head is no surprise. We would like to show you in this 2nd style trend of 2022 how to implement this in the interior and office.

The 'Fresh start' trend is all about bright, sustainable and well-organized spaces with lots of white, accentuated by the subtle use of light blue and yellow. We take a more flexible approach to our home: it should be easy to transform to another purpose. In one space we go from a home office, to sports, to relaxing and, responsibly, receiving visitors.

Clean shapes, simple designs in sustainable material

The shapes are deliberately simple and clean, the products are multifunctional. There is a large focus on products that have to do with creating a pleasant (home) office. Green partitions in various forms play a striking and functional role in this. The flowers and plants used have a clear and purposeful place. They are seen more as part of the furniture.

Sustainability is a greater value than ever. We would rather reuse than throw away. So the materials used are also circular, recycled or recyclable. Designs stay out in this style. If patterns are used at all, they are based on natural products such as leather, cork and cotton. Also, more and more new sustainable materials are introduced to the market with a distinct recycled look.

The Naturescast planter from Baq is one of these particularly eco-friendly products. It consists of forest residues such as dry leaves, branches and tree bark. This makes the planter biodegradable and recyclable. But most importantly, this planter gives any tree an insane look.

Plants as a disguise

Whether at home or in the office, a flexible but quiet work environment is always helpful. There are several ways to achieve this.  For example, Elho has a movable pot made from recycled plastic. Place a variegated Schefflera in this, for instance: it will immediately serve as a partition and dampen the ambient noise. Do you have a stool that you no longer use? If so, use it as a plant stand with an impressive Chlorophytum as a real eye-catcher. Use smaller plants to disguise unsightly utensils in open cabinets. An excellent example is the gray Refined Retro with Feet shelf by Pottery Pots, filled with attractive small plants as well as office supplies. This piece of furniture can also be used effectively as a room divider. All in all, a great example of multifunctional use of furniture.
