In recent years, the Sansevieria has enjoyed a huge comeback thanks to its strong vintage appeal. It also happens to be an extremely sturdy plant that is very easy to care for. We offer a varied range at very attractive prices.

Boring shelf-filler plant becomes versatile must-have

The Sansevieria originates from the arid regions of West Africa, where it had to survive the hot desert climate and developed into an extremely sturdy plant. In the 1960s and 1970s, Sansevierias were an essential feature of grandma’s interior decor and classroom window sills. This was because it was one of the few plants able to survive the long summer holidays. Strong as an ox, but also quite boring. The Sansevieria gradually disappeared, until this wonderful plant was rediscovered just a few years ago. New varieties with unusual colours and shapes began to emerge, leading to a huge resurgence in demand.

Care of the Sansevieria

Today, you will see the Sansevieria frequently in the workplace, because it is an air-purifying and easy plant with few demands. The lady's tongue needs very little water and can easily be placed in a light spot. In a place further from the window, the plant will grow slower and will need less water. When the plant develops brown leaf edges or brown spots, this is often a sign of too much water.

Our range includes a wide variety of Sansevierias from our own nursery, both in soil and hydroculture.
