The Aeschynanthus lobbianus 'Scoubidou', commonly known as the Lipstick Plant, originates from the tropical rainforests of Asia. It is indigenous to countries like Malaysia, the Philippines and the Himalayas. There, the plant often grows in trees or among rocks, benefiting from the humid and warm climate.

Characteristics
What is unique about the Aeschynanthus lobbianus 'Scoubidou' are the long, hanging shoots with shiny green leaves and striking lipstick-shaped flowers. These flowers are usually brightly red in colour, which is how the plant has earned its nickname "Lipstick Plant". The plant belongs to the Gesneriaceae family and can grow up to a meter in length.

Care
For the optimal growth of the Aeschynanthus lobbianus 'Scoubidou', it is important to create a warm and slightly humid environment. The plant likes indirect light and thrives in locations such as a bathroom or a conservatory. The plant needs regular watering, but should not be left standing in water to prevent root rot.
