Origin
The Guzmania 'Variada' is a bromelia species originally from Central and South America. In the wild, this plant mainly grows in rainforests, often on tree trunks and rocks. The plant is named after Anastasio Guzman, an 18th-century Spanish pharmacist and naturalist who classified many types of plants in South America.

Characteristics
The Guzmania 'Variada' is known for its striking flower cone, consisting of coloured bracts in red, orange, yellow or pink. The flowers that appear are usually small, white and unnoticeable. The plant's green leaves are shiny, long, and pointed. They form a kind of bowl where water is collected. This plant can reach an average height of 30 to 60 centimeters and usually stays smaller when kept as a pot plant.

The care of the Guzmania 'Variada' requires a specific approach. The plant prefers a bright location, without direct sunlight. In addition, it needs high humidity, so misting with water can help.
