The Phalaenopsis Violacea, also known as Borneo's orchid, originates from the tropical areas of Southeast Asia. This type of orchid is predominantly found in the humid, warm rainforests of Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines and Borneo.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Violacea is characterised by its unique shape and colour. The plant has oval leaves that develop into a beautiful shiny dark green colour. The flowers, which are predominantly purple-pink, have a noticeable citrus scent. This orchid is characterised by a long flowering period, during which it can produce new flowers several times a year.
Care
With the Phalaenopsis Violacea, precision is crucial in its care. The plant thrives at a temperature between 20-29 degrees Celsius and requires a lot of light, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The orchid needs high humidity and sufficient water, preferably once a week. For optimal growth, it is advised to feed the orchid special orchid fertiliser.
