Phalaenopsis King BO Collection
1-Branche White
F00002340
Origin
The Phalaenopsis Malwina is a cultivar of the Phalaenopsis orchid species and was developed in laboratories. This species is not found in the wild, but was created by botanical scientists and gardeners who have managed to create the ideal conditions for this type of orchid.
Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Malwina is known for its striking dark colours. The flowers are usually deep purple-red, nearly black, with light stripes. As the Phalaenopsis Malwina is a hybrid, there can however be differences in the colour and shape of the flowers. The plant has short, broad leaves that are dark green in colour.
Care
The Phalaenopsis Malwina prefers a warm, airy environment with plenty of, but indirect, light. Too much direct sunlight can damage the leaves. It is advisable to water the plant once a week, but allow the potting soil to dry out in between watering to prevent the roots from rotting. During the growing period, in spring and summer, it can be beneficial to add an orchid fertiliser to the water.
