Origin
The Phalaenopsis Taiwan mix is a type of orchid that originates from the south of Taiwan. Here, the plant grows in the natural environment of the tropical rainforest. The name Phalaenopsis comes from the Greek Phalaina (meaning moth) and opsis (meaning similar to), referring to the resemblance of the flowers to tropical moths in flight.
Characteristics
This graceful plant is characterised by its beautiful flowers, which can come in a variety of colours, including white, pink, yellow, and purple. Each flower has a diameter of 2 to 4 centimetres. Moreover, the Phalaenopsis Taiwan mix blooms multiple times a year when well cared for. The plant has large, fleshy leaves that are a bright green colour.
Care
Despite its exotic origin, the care of the Phalaenopsis Taiwan mix is relatively simple. The plant needs a light location, but cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The orchid needs little water and it is recommended to only water when the soil feels dry. It is recommended to plant the plant in a special orchid mix potting soil for optimal growth results. A temperature between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius is most ideal for the Phalaenopsis Taiwan mix.
