Origin
The Guzmania 'Sweet' is a cultivar within the genus Guzmania, which belongs to the bromeliad family (Bromeliaceae). This plant originates from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. In its native habitat, the Guzmania grows as an epiphyte on trees. The 'Sweet' is selected by growers for its ornamental value and does not occur in the wild.

Characteristics
Guzmania 'Sweet' has a striking rosette of narrow, glossy, fresh green leaves. The plant is especially valued for its brightly coloured bracts, which, depending on the variety, range in shades of red, orange, or yellow. The actual flowers are small and less conspicuous, appearing in the centre of the bracts. The plant typically reaches a height of 30 to 50 centimetres. Its growth habit is compact and upright.

Care
Guzmania 'Sweet' prefers a bright spot without direct sunlight. The ideal temperature is between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. The plant absorbs moisture through its aerial roots and the rosette, where water can regularly be present. The substrate should be kept slightly moist, but not waterlogged. Fertilising is only necessary during the growing period and only in limited quantities.
