Origin
The Vriesea Valletta is a variant in the Bromeliaceae family. The plant has its origins in Central and South America and is named after Willem Hendrik de Vriese, a 19th-century Dutch botanist. The Vriesea Valletta originally grows in tropical rainforests, often on trees as an epiphyte.

Characteristics
The Vriesea Valletta is an epiphytic plant known for its striking and colourful leaf markings. The inflorescences of this plant are also remarkable, they form a kind of sword or feather. The flowers are usually yellow, but there are also varieties with red or purple flowers. The plant can reach a height of 30 to 60 centimetres.

Care
Like many other bromeliads, the Vriesea Valletta needs high humidity. The plant prefers a light and well-drained type of soil. Although this plant is suitable for light to semi-shady places, it should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The plant only requires moderate water; it is best to pour this into the plant's funnel.
