Origin
The Guzmania Rockyflower Tala is a tropical plant originally from Central and South America. It is part of the Bromeliaceae family, known for their diversity in colour and shape. The plant is named after the Spanish naturalist Anastasio Guzman, who studied and catalogued numerous plants and animals in the New World.
Characteristics
The Guzmania Rockyflower Tala is characterised by its bright green, elongated leaves and striking flower cluster that grows in the centre of the plant. The flower cluster consists of numerous small flowers, which are red and orange in colour. This plant can grow to a height of approximately 30 to 40 centimetres and has an average width of 30 centimetres.
Care
When caring for the Guzmania Rockyflower Tala, it is important that the plant is placed in a spot with indirect sunlight, as direct sunlight can damage the leaves. The plant requires little water and it is recommended to water in the funnel of the leaves where the water is collected in nature. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. A high humidity contributes to optimum growth.
