Origin
The Begonia Valentino Pink is a popular houseplant native to the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, America and Africa. It is a member of the Begoniaceae family, which comprises more than 1800 different species, most of which can be found in the warmer regions of the world.
Characteristics
The Begonia Valentino Pink is characterised by its distinctive, pink flowers and shiny, green leaves. The plant has a compact growth habit and can grow up to about 30 centimeters in height. The plant's leaves are heart-shaped and are covered with fine hairs, giving them a velvety appearance. The pink flowers of the Valentino Pink usually appear in late spring and remain until the autumn.
Care
The Begonia Valentino Pink requires specific care for optimal growth. The plant likes a well-lit position but does not want to be in direct sunlight. In terms of watering, the Valentino Pink likes consistently moist soil but will not grow well if the soil is too wet. Overwatering can lead to root rot. A well-draining soil type is therefore crucial for healthy growth. Moreover, it is recommended to feed the plant regularly with a general houseplant fertiliser during the growth period from spring to autumn.
