Origin
The Cambria Gold Rush does not refer to a historical event, but to a popular houseplant: the Cambria orchid. It is a hybrid form of the orchid family, resulting from the crossbreeding of several species in the late twentieth century. This crossbreeding has led to a wide range of unique and attractive varieties, just like the 'Gold Rush'.
Characteristics
The Cambria Gold Rush stands out from other orchids due to its distinctive exterior characteristics. This plant produces beautiful flowers, which catch the eye with their bright golden yellow colour, often striped or speckled with brown or purple. The flowers have an exotic, almost extraterrestrial appearance, with wavy or jagged edges. In addition, the Gold Rush has a dense foliage of shiny green leaves.
Care
In terms of care, the Cambria Gold Rush requires a specific amount of light and water for optimal growth. The plant responds best to indirect sunlight and room temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Generally, the Gold Rush requires little water - watering once a week is usually sufficient. To enhance the lifespan and bloom cycle of the plant, it is recommended to add a high-quality orchid fertilizer once a month during the growing season.
