Origin
The Pilea Norfolk, also known as the Aluminium Plant, has its origin in Vietnam. It grows in the wild in damp, shady locations, such as in the lower part of the rainforest. The plant belongs to the Urticaceae family, which counts over 800 plant species worldwide.

Characteristics
The Pilea Norfolk distinguishes itself through its unique and characteristic leaves. These are oval in shape and have a deep green colour with silver markings, which explains the alternative name Aluminium Plant. The plant has a compact growing habit, typically of 30 to 40 cm in height. The Pilea Norfolk rarely produces flowers, but when they do appear, they are small and white.

Care
The care of the Pilea Norfolk is quite straightforward and does not require a specific routine. The plant prefers a spot with medium to bright indirect light and a high humidity level. The Pilea Norfolk prefers well-draining soil and should be watered moderately, allowing the soil to dry out in between to prevent root rot. The ideal temperature for the plant is between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius.
