Origin
The Anthurium Livium Orange originally comes from the tropical regions of Central and South America. The plant belongs to the Araceae family and is mainly found in countries such as Panama, Costa Rica and Colombia. The natural habitat of this plant is the humid, warm rainforests where it grows on tree trunks and in rock crevices.
Characteristics
Within the Anthurium family, the Livium Orange is characterised by its striking orange inflorescence. It has wide, glossy, dark green leaves that contrast with the vibrant flower colour. The typical flowers are not real flowers, but so-called spathe that surround the spadix. The spadix, also known as the flowering spike, carries the actual tiny flowers.
Care
Caring for an Anthurium Livium Orange requires some knowledge and attention. The plant likes a warm, humid environment, similar to its original rainforest habitat. In this regard, the plant thrives well in indirect sunlight, while direct sunlight can burn the leaves. To keep the moisture level up, it is recommended to water the plant regularly, but to avoid the roots standing in water. After all, the excess water can cause root rot. Finally, it's suggested to repot the plant annually to stimulate optimal growth.
