Origin
The Gaultheria pr. Big Berry® originated from the plant family Ericaceae and is originally from North America. This evergreen shrub is primarily found in the forests and mountains of the west coast of North America.
Characteristics
The Gaultheria pr. Big Berry® is known for its large, dark red berries, which grow on the plant in the autumn. The leaf of the shrub is glossy and dark green, turning bronze to purple in autumn and winter. The plant can reach a height of 0.5 to 1.5 metres. In the spring, the Gaultheria pr. Big Berry® blooms with white-pink, bell-shaped flowers.
Care
For the best results, the Gaultheria pr. Big Berry® should be placed in partial shade to full sun. The plant prefers well-draining, moist, acidic soil and has a moderate need for water. To promote growth and flowering, it is recommended to fertilise the plant in the spring with a fertilizer for acid-loving plants. The Gaultheria pr. Big Berry® is a frost-resistant plant and therefore does not need to be brought indoors in the winter.
