Origin
The Peperomia Red Margin, also known as the Radiator Plant, has its origin in South America. It belongs to the Piperaceae plant family and consists of more than 1000 different species. The plant is largely found in the tropical and subtropical regions of this continent.
Characteristics
The Peperomia Red Margin is known for its compact size and small structured leaves. These leaves have a deep green colour with a striking red edge, leading to the name 'Red Margin'. It has a bushy growth habit and usually reaches a height between 25 and 30 centimetres. The plant rarely produces flowers, and when it does, they are quite inconspicuous.
Care
Caring for the Peperomia Red Margin is relatively easy. The plant prefers a bright spot, but not direct sunlight. In terms of watering, it is important that the soil can slightly dry out between waterings, as too much water can lead to root rot. The plant grows best at room temperature and requires high humidity, so regular misting with water can be beneficial. Repotting is not often necessary, only when the plant truly outgrows its pot, this is because the Peperomia Red Margin is a slow-growing plant.
