Origin
The Fittonia Forest Flame, also known as the Nerve Plant, has its origin in the tropical rainforests of South America. The humid and warm climatic conditions of these regions provide the ideal growing environment for this plant. Here the plant developed its characteristic characteristics and adaptability.
Characteristics
The Fittonia Forest Flame is a creeping, fast-growing plant with striking leaves. These leaves are generally dark green but have a unique pattern of bright pink veins. The plant remains relatively small, making it ideal for indoor use. Despite its small dimensions, the Fittonia Forest Flame is quite noticeable and forms a striking addition to any interior.
Care
The Fittonia Forest Flame needs a lot of moisture and thrives in environments with high humidity. All year round the plant requires regular watering and the soil needs to stay moist but not waterlogged. The plant grows best in indirect sunlight at temperatures between 18° and 24°C. Too much direct sunlight can cause the leaves to fade, in which the distinctive veins lose their colour.
