Origin
The Hoya Australis Tricolor, also known as the Australian Wax Plant, has its origin in Eastern Australia and along the northern coastline of Australia. The plant is a member of the Apocynaceae family and is named after Thomas Hoy, an 18th-century botanist.
Characteristics
The Hoya Australis Tricolor is an evergreen, climbing plant with succulent leaves and beautiful, star-shaped flowers. The leaves have a striking three-coloured pattern, ranging from green to pink and white. The plant produces clusters of waxy flowers that are sweet-scented and mainly bloom in the summer.
Care
The Hoya Australis Tricolor requires a bright, indirect light location and cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The plant also prefers well-draining soil and is fairly drought-tolerant. Despite the plant appreciating humidity, it can also grow in a less moist environment. In terms of temperature, the Hoya Australis Tricolor prefers temperatures between 18 and 24 degrees Celsius.
