Origin
The Hoya carnosa Tricolor is an exotic plant species that originally hails from East Asia and Australia. This plant, also known as the wax plant, predominantly grows wild in rainforests and on mountain slopes, where it enjoys the humid climate and shady conditions.
Characteristics
The Hoya carnosa Tricolor is an evergreen plant with striking, striped leaves in green, cream, and pink. It forms long, airy vines and develops graceful, star-shaped flowers in the summer. The flowers are usually white with a red centre and have a sweet, pleasant scent. It is a slow-growing plant, but with the right care, can thrive for many years.
Care
Although the Hoya carnosa Tricolor is quite easy to care for, it does require some attention. It thrives best in bright yet indirect light and needs well-draining soil to prevent root rot. Watering should be done moderately, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. A location with high humidity is ideal, but the plant can also survive in less humid conditions. Repotting is only necessary when the plant has outgrown its current pot.
