Origin
The Caladium Purple Light, also known as the Heart of Jesus, hails from the tropical rainforests of South and Central America. The plant belongs to the Araceae family. Due to its high resilience to various climates, the plant is distributed worldwide.
Characteristics
The Caladium Purple Light is a remarkable plant, characterised by its heart-shaped leaves with a purple-red colour. This makes the plant visually very attractive and decorative. The plant generally grows in a bushy structure, with leaves growing on long, slender stems. The plant can reach a height of 30 to 60 cm.
Care
The Caladium Purple Light has a strong preference for high humidity and temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. It is important that the plant is placed in well-drained soil to prevent root rot. The plant naturally requires indirect sunlight, as direct exposure to the sun can scorch the leaves. When watering the plant, it is important to ensure that water does not land on the leaves, in order to prevent leaf spots and rot. During the winter months, it is advisable to water the plant less.
