The Alocasia Lauterbachiana Variegata is a unique variant of the original Alocasia Lauterbachiana. This exotic plant originates from the tropical regions of Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia. The plant is also known as the 'Purple Sword' due to its remarkable purple leaves.
Characteristics
The Alocasia Lauterbachiana Variegata is known for its long, narrow, undulating leaves. These leaves have a deep purple colour on the underside and a rich green with white or cream variegation on the top. The plant can reach a height of 1.5 to 2 metres. Additionally, this Alocasia bears small, inconspicuous white flowers during the summer.
Care
The care of the Alocasia Lauterbachiana Variegata requires warmth, humidity and plenty of indirect light. It is recommended to water the plant regularly, but overwatering should be avoided to prevent root rot. Furthermore, the plant prefers a well-draining soil mix. The best possible growing conditions are achieved at a daytime temperature around 25 degrees Celsius and a minimum nighttime temperature of 16 degrees Celsius.
