Origin
The Ficus benjamina Petite Samantha® is a variant of the ficus family, originally growing in Southeast Asia and Australia. Known for its graceful growth and lush foliage, it has spread worldwide and found a permanent place in many interiors and gardens.
Characteristics
The Ficus benjamina Petite Samantha® is distinguished by its compact growth and finely feathered, shiny leaves. The leaves are oval-shaped and dark green in colour. The plant grows slowly, resulting in a dense leaf crown that is ideal for forming a compact, graceful plant. Despite its subtropical origin, the plant is very adaptable and can easily grow in various climates.
Care
The Ficus benjamina Petite Samantha® requires a moderate light level but should be protected from direct sunlight. It has a medium water requirement, whereby the soil should dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. It is recommended to spray the plant regularly with water to increase humidity. The plant can be pruned to maintain its shape and stimulate new growth.
