Origin
The Phalaenopsis Jillion, also known as the butterfly orchid, originates from the warm and humid rainforests of Asia and Australia. The name Phalaenopsis comes from Greek, meaning 'resembling a butterfly', referring to the typical shape of the flower.

Characteristics
The Phalaenopsis Jillion belongs to the group of tropical orchids and is highly recognisable by its large, elongated leaves. The plant is known for its exotic flowers, the colours of which range from white and pink to deep purple. The flowers of the Phalaenopsis Jillion have a diameter of about 10 centimetres. This type of orchid can grow up to 80 centimetres high.

Care
The Phalaenopsis Jillion desires an environment with high humidity and lots of indirect light. It is recommended to water the plant twice a week, but excess water needs to be drained to prevent root rot. This type of orchid can bloom all year round, provided the plant is cared for properly. Fertilising a Phalaenopsis Jillion is necessary and should occur once a month.
