Origin
The Apoballis Acuminatissima Red Sword originally comes from Southeast Asia, specifically the regions of Malaysia and the Philippines. It thrives mainly in marshy areas and in the shade of trees in humid forests.
Characteristics
This plant is known for its long, sword-shaped red leaves that give a dramatic, almost exotic appearance. The leaves have a shiny surface, making the red colour seem even brighter. The Apoballis Acuminatissima Red Sword can grow up to approximately 60 cm high and 30 cm wide. Flowers are rarely seen with this plant species.
Care
This plant prefers high humidity, just like its natural habitat. As such, it is a suitable plant to place in a terrarium. In addition, the Apoballis Acuminatissima Red Sword also requires ample indirect sunlight and well-draining soil. Overwatering should be avoided as it can cause root rot.
